As a new driver to Team Quadratec, as well as W.E. Rock, this first event in Hannibal, MO was a special one for me and my spotter. I have spent the better part of the winter building a brand new rig, a 1993 Wrangler. The last 4+ months have been one of late nights and early mornings spent in the garage getting the rig ready for the big show.

As time narrowed and the competition approached, we spent a back breaking last day prepping the vehicle and getting it ready to be loaded for our long drive out to Missouri. About 8pm Thursday night we got the Jeep loaded, only to realize that our trailer lights weren’t working. The next 2 hours were spent diagnosing the situation and we had lights finally. Wow, the 2008 season has already arrived. Team Quardratec #832 has made a few off- season improvements to their modified stock rig. We swapped out the rear Ford nine inch for a Currie Rock Jock 60. It houses an ARB with 4:88 Gears and Alloy USA 35 spline semi float axle shafts. With the new ARB we now have the ability to independently brake the two rear tires. This makes the maneuverability of the rig unbelievable. The ability to unlock the rear differential while pulling on the buggy brake makes tight turns easy with out the problem of pushing through turns. With only one practice day under our belt and the first WE Rock event coming up quick, I guess we had no choice but to be ready. It was time for our 16-hour ride to the home of Mark Twain, Hannibal Missouri.

Welcome to the 2008 We-Rock Pro Eastern Series.  We entered our first event with some new modifications, and hoped to put up a good showing in event one at Hannibal MO.  We felt it important to do well at this event as we would be returning in September for the Grand Nationals.  With many new entrants into the pro-modified class our job for a top finish would be tougher than ever!

Day one would begin with us starting on what would probably be our most technical course of the weekend.  When we passed through the entrance gate we knew if we could complete this course we would be the first team to do so.  We navigated the cones well and with time ticking down we backed out the exit gates with a 23.  Not bad for a first course finish.
